I'm working hard to get a list of abstracts/delegates done. type='text'>Area Chairs</title><content type='html'>The area chairs are responsible for&lt;br /&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;writing  description for the Call for Papers&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;distributing CFP   &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;selecting papers &amp;amp; organising into panels&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;the 'quality' of the papers&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;organising &amp;amp; briefing the panel chairs&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;getting delegates' books on the booksellers sales tables (ie so provide organising committe with titles and publishers); book flyers for the satchels&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;special av requirements &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;abstracts (length, grammar, timeliness)&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;fielding media enquiries&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;holding a meeting for next year's conference&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;organising referees for conference paper publication&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Basically the area chair runs their area. I'm hoping to get enthusiastic experts in their fields who will be able to make the area their own and who will continue in this role.
